Workday invites us to make outlaw meaning out of what attempts to police us. Moscovich makes poetry out of a group of verbal CAPTCHAS from 2007-2009.. Spread across the 9 to 5 of a typical workday we find CAPTCHAS lineated like typical poems, CAPTCHAS as brand names or genus/species names (Geneva bobber, godet dismal) until we see them everywhere -- as perhaps we should. This Workday is good trouble and also good fun.

Like OULIPO turning “unpoetic” mathematics into art, David Moscovich has found the beauty and absurdity in what used to be a mundane task— verifying one’s humanity to a website. Moscovich reminds us there is poetry everywhere; these poems turn over the mulch of the unpoetic with a spade to find that beauty. And they’re very strange and often seriously funny, if you think Dr. Ganoidal is funny. And you will.

The ultimate in restricted writing—David Moscovich’s athletic and poetic feat, a poem every five minutes from 9AM till 5PM with a lunch break. 74 snapshots of the human body and mind under extreme stress, leading to such insights as “skiddy fuckus” and “hunked molars,” as well as puzzlers, such as, “12 breviate 34567890” and “ahanwi siilippan.” Not to be tried by everyone, but available for inspection by the curious.
