Garin Cycholl is author of Blue Mound to 161 (Pavement Saw Press), a poetic journey of the political, social and geological dislocations of southern Illinois, as well as Rafetown Georgics (Cracked Slab Books; shorter poems) and the prose collection Nightbirds (Moria Books). He teaches writing and literature at the University of Illinois at Chicago and is Visiting Lecturer with the Committee on Creative Writing at the University of Chicago. Exploring the spaces that American poetry inhabits between memory and place, his recent work has appeared with the Seneca Review, Mississippi Valley Voices, and Stockyard. Since 2002, he has been a member of Chicago’s Jimmy Wynn fiction collaborative.
